Behind This Lie
I am beautiful, inside these green eyes
I dream in color, a feeling of no demise
An intrusive smile, an endearing glow
To frolic in the ebriety, a chance to say hello
Then a glance in the looking glass, a reflection of silence
Picking apart the pieces, within a frown of defiance
Happiness was content, until time taken to see
Living behind the shadows, finding it is still me
Looking into your own eyes, gives a chance for change
For a moment time stands still, a judgment to disarrange
A trying glimpse at a past, when the bad seems to be more
With all the possible futures, and the paths you could not ignore
A passive acceptance of fate, left with thoughts in an array
The juggernaut of my time felt, as I turn and walk away
